As the 99th General Assembly convenes and Illinois inaugurates a new Governor, the state's budget crisis is at the top of the agenda. ULCC Public Affairs and the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability (CTBA) invite you to attend a complimentary breakfast forum on Wednesday, January 21 examining these daunting challenges. Moderated by CTBA Executive Director Ralph Martire, our forum will feature two state lawmakers offering their views on Illinois' budgetary and fiscal dilemmas and possible solutions: State Senator Don Harmon (D-39th) and State Senator Matt Murphy (R-27th).


CTBA’s Ralph Martire provided an overview of the Illinois fiscal condition and the daunting challenges facing the 99th General Assembly and the new Governor at the January 21, 2015 fiscal forum, Truth or Consequences.

The Union League Club of Chicago’s (ULCC) Public Affairs Subcommittee on Education and Advance Illinois invite you to attend an forum on November 11 to examine the merits of the Illinois School Funding Reform Act (SB 16), which is intended to improve the method by which Illinois allocates funds to public schools.

Ralph Martire of the Chicago-based Center for Tax and Budget Accountability will speak at the "Tax Talk Listening Session" hosted by Carol Ammons, candidate for State Rep in the 103rd District of Illinois. The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Douglass Center Annex, 804 N. Fifth St., Champaign.
